Leticia

I went to Colombia to dig a well in the Amazon jungle in 2014, and while staying at a guest house in Leticia, I met the tiniest monkey that I could have ever imagined, who was on a teeny tiny leash. The woman who owned him explained that this particular type of monkey was often smuggled out of the country in extravagant hairdos on top of ladies’ heads, and then sold on the illegal exotic animal market. This one didn’t seem too pleased to be on top of my head, but maybe he was just disappointed by my lack of tall hair for hiding out. What a cutie!
